Have you ever wondered what the dentist sees when he states that you have a cavity or even a cracked tooth? We have an intra-oral camera so that you can actually see pictures of the good and bad areas of your teeth. Intra-oral photography is the use of a digital mouth camera, which allows you to share in evaluation and treatment planning.
No City of Atlanta tap water is used for our procedures. Only distilled water is used in all of our equipment.
Our office is mercury free. Mercury is mixed with silver to produce "silver" fillings. It has been banned in some countries and its use is restricted in many others.
We offer a "Drill-less" filling technique. Used mostly for small cavities, this procedure uses a device that delivers pressurized food grade silica to abrade the surface of the tooth and the decay under it. It keeps the size of the filling small and in most cases can be used without anesthetic.
The traditional "noise" of the drill is eliminated by the electric hand pieces used in our office. While we still have and sometimes need to use the noisy drill, we primarily use an air regulated electric hand piece. The reason we started using this hand piece was the discovery that the turbine high speed hand piece sets up micro-fractures in the enamel. Our newer hand piece operates slower and it is thought to go a long way in eliminating those fractures.
i-glasses! is a personal monitor for viewing television or movies. We have a VCR and DVD player available. You may choose a movie from our collection, or you can bring your own VCR tape, DVD, or CD to watch or listen to while you are having any dental procedure done.
Computerized local anesthesia may eliminate all discomfort due to traditional injections. Stronger topical anethestic is used on the soft tissue and the computer delivers the anethestic in a gentle flow, so the delivery of the medication is almost imperceptible.
Nitrous oxide (Laughing Gas) is available for all procedures including cleanings.
